No One is Broken

Author Mary Cronk Farrell
Hello ,

Quick note, just to wave Hi, this week.  I'm back to my young adult novel and totally immersed in the process.

I've been writing it for four years now, in-between working on Pure Grit, and Fannie Never Flinced, my non-fiction books. It's such a treat to be able to focus on my fiction every day and I have retreated into the world of my story, (No pun intended) and don't really want to come out.

However, I am making a point to enjoy these last weeks of August, as summer is fleeting.  Hope you are, too.

A couple weeks ago I wrote about compassion and am heartened by your response. Here's a suggestion that came via twitter.  Thanks, Bree!

Karen wrote: I am learning to be compassionate with myself.  For me, it is about letting go of resentments that lead to negative thinking.

A friend of mine, Bill Kenower, has a deep understanding of compassion. His forthcoming memoir is No One Is Broken: What a Father Learned When He Tried to Fix His Son

Bill says, "The year my son Sawyer officially received the unsurprising diagnosis of high functioning autism was the same year I looked in the mirror and realized I had become the failure I had spent my life fearing I would one day be."  Read one of his blog posts on compassion here.

Thanks for joining me this week! I know you time is valuable and I appreciate you spending a few minutes with me today. I am always happy to hear your thoughts
