Author Mary Cronk Farrell
Hello ,

Yes! The two book deals I told you about last week have gone through! Contracts always take awhile, but I can tell that both of the books will be non-fiction on WWII topics.  Coincidentally, I blogged about one of them last February. You may remember the story of Elzbieta Ficowska. I didn't plan to write more on the topic, but I am totally thrilled this project dropped in my lap!
Featured Story!
Recently, I wrote about Margaret Hamilton, the woman who headed the MIT team that programmed Apollo 11's computers. Today's story is about another young woman at NASA, and a very personal connection.

NASA test fired it's Space Launch System (SLS) RS-25 rocket engine Thursday, preparing to:
1) send astronauts in the Orion capsule to the Moon around 2021,
2) to an asteroid around 2025
3) and then beyond on a ‘Journey to Mars’ in the 2030s.

My goddaughter was in the control room!  Check it out!
So proud!
News and Links
Ten days. I was gone ten days and when I came back the critters had rampaged my garden! Normally, I am a kind person, but if you saw me going after the cabbage loopers on my kale and arugula, you would see that I can be a vicious killer and take great pleasure in it.

I've given up on my beans and peas...not sure what is strangling the life out them, but I am trying to nurse my cucumber vines back to life with insecticidal soap.
Not leaving home again until September, when my oldest son is getting married. I'm so thrilled about the wedding that the critters can eat the entire garden if they want!

Thank you for your support. Having you share in my good news makes it that much more of a celebration.
