Hello ,

Today I'd like to share with about my sister Louise Baker who died this past week of colon cancer.  She left a wonderful legacy of love through her husband and five children, plus all of us family and friends who loved her so much.

As far back as I can remember, Louise wanted to be a wife and mom. She especially had a knack with little kids. They loved her because she had a way of really paying attention to them. Her kids were lucky to have her for a mom and they will surely miss her.

Growing up, Louise and I forged a close friendship when we ran cross country together.  She was my maid of honor when I got married, when I famously told my husband, "You'll never be as close to me as my sisters!"

As the years went by, our energies went to creating and strengthening bonds with our own husbands and children, and the sister bond moved to the back ground. But Louise will always have her own special part of my heart. And that part is breaking right now.

Here we are on her wedding day, Louise and all of us Cronk sisters, plus a niece.

Crazy how life is.

The very same day that Louise died, my brother Kevin was scheduled for kidney transplant surgery. Everything went great, and they actually expect him to leave the hospital in just four days.

He would hate me showing you this picture, but I'm just so happy he's alive and doing well.

Kevin is the one standing. The nurse took him for a walk to visit the guy who gave him a kidney. That's Troy, the one in bed.

I'll be taking next week off to spend time with Louise's family in Canton, Georgia.

Until next week...
