Hello ,

Turns out I have taken an unexpected break from this newsletter for a few weeks.

You may remember me celebrating three months ago after sending the "last" revision of my next book to my editor.

Turns out another revision was needed and it was much more time consuming than I anticipated. Will this be the "final" manuscript? I sincerely hope so!

I still have much work to do on the photographs, writing captions and taking care of permissions to publish the few which were not taken by Catherine Leroy. Plus, I'm still trying to come up with a public domain map of Vietnam so readers can visualize the locations talked about in the book.

Exciting News

The big excitement these last couple weeks is some film interest in a couple of my books! Long-time subscribers know that this has happened before and turned into nothing.

So I am not betting the farm on it. But there is a group interested in a limited TV series based on Pure Grit. And also a nibble concerning film rights to Standing up Against Hate.

Not to worry. I will let you know if anything comes of it.

In this time of the corona virus and the #BlackLivesMatter demonstrations after the death of George Floyd, my newsletters have reflected more current events than I usually focus on.

I plan to get back to writing some stories about historical women who showed great courage and the time is right with the 100th anniversary of women's suffrage next month.

Unfortunately, most all of the celebrations and activities planned to mark the day have been cancelled or moved to online formats. But there will still be a lot going on to celebrate this occasion.

I'll have some tips for you coming up, as well as the stories of some amazing women! Stay tuned.
